  1. Enjoyed, thanks. I like the shading on your figures, as the recesses are caught but the highlights stay clean and am guessing that you used a thinned down polyurethane, like that sold by army painter ...... or even one of our DIY stores, Am I close?

    1. Quite a way off I'm afraid Norm. I don't use the Army Painter dip at all, it can bring out a very basic paint job or destroy a good one 😁
I used painting triads and drybrushing mostly with a sparing use of water based washes, with oils for horses. Always happy to answer questions, you may find the tutorials I've done on the Utubes https://youtu.be/V6DUFNwX4Uk

  2. Nice work Ken, and those Woodbine designs really are a nice figure and came up beautifully. I'm with you on the triad/no dip approach, and have preferred that over the past ten years or so. I finally got the chance to use your basing method on some GHQ WWII ships by the way, and very pleased I was indeed as a first attempt.

  3. Thanks, I am intrigued and will go there now. The dry brushing is probably the bit that I could do with bringing into my own painting. Cheers.
