That's the Preliminary Round over (thank God !) 8760 votes cast for 190 plus nominated rules.

3 Years Ago 108 sets of Historical #Wargames Rules battled it out over 6 weeks for Chain of Command to come out as World Cup Winners, can they win again.
Voting is underway in the Preliminary Round, there are two alphabetically sorted groups, people can pick 6 from each group. The top 16 across both Groups progress to Round 1.

WORLD CUP BEGINS TODAY
Please read the following before posting it will avoid a sarcastic response in the comments !
The second running of the Yarkshire Gamers World Cup of Historical Wargames Rules begins today with the NOMINATION phase of the PRELIMINARY round.
Until Monday morning you have the opportunity to nominate sets of rules that are NOT ALREADY in the World Cup. The pictures in this post show you the 8 seeds and 100 other sets of rules that are already in the competition. The existing list are the Rules from the last World Cup who got votes along with a few new sets I've added to make it up to 100.

Unfortunately everything is run on Facebook so apologies if you are not on there, after 4 years and tens of thousands of votes I've found no easier way of running it !
ENTRANCE TO THE WORLD CUP IS BY NOMINATION - DONT MOAN YOUR FAVOURITE RULES ARENT IN, ITS BECAUSE THEY HAVENT BEEN NOMINATED YET - YOU NEED TO NOMINATE THEM 😄

ELIGIBILITY
1. The rules must be for Historical Wargames
2. The rules must be for a Miniature based game
3. The rules must be published and have been, or are commercially avaliable
4. Rule sets with more than one version will only get ONE nomination so Chain of Command and Chain of Command 2 are covered in the same nomination.
NOMINATION PROCESS
1. Check the list of 108 sets (the 100 existing nominations are in alphabetical order) already in the competition and make sure your choice is not participating already.
2. Check it is eligible
3. Make a comment here which starts "I nominate" then the name of the set of rules you are nominating plus a very brief description (a sentence at most) so I can find the rules if I don't know them.
4. ONLY ONE NOMINATION PER COMMENT !!!
5. Only THREE nominations per person per day.
NEXT PHASE
1. On Monday this post will be closed and the voting will begin.
2. Nominations will still be allowed after voting begins but will be made on the vote post.
3. Voting will last 7 days and the 16 sets of rules with the most votes will enter the draw for Round 1 of the World Cup.
IMPORTANT
1. I am the only one running this so please DONT BE A DI*K. You can't nominate your mates rules you play down the club, this isn't a game of nominating the most obscure rules you can think of.
2. Please keep chat down on this post as it will get busy, feel free to start your own discussion posts in the group.
3. Please share far and wide the more people get involved the better.
4. If you are not a member of the Facebook Group you will need to post nominations on the Yarkshire Gamer Page or join the Yarkshire Gamers Reet Big Wargames Podcast Group. If you do join you HAVE to answer the questions !
